Nothing Beyond

The Apostle Paul writes,
"That you may learn through us
the meaning of the saying,
'Nothing beyond what is written.'"
For thousands of years scholars
have been scratching their heads,
searching this cryptic saying
for a meaning that remains elusive.
Perhaps there is nothing beyond
what has already been written.
