Perfection – A Thread You Follow

Perfectly Imperfect

I want to be perfectly good enough;
Not so as I am the first one across a finish line
Nor the fastest to complete a good book
Nor the one who plunges deepest into the depths
Nor to sing a melody in the brightest of voices
Nor to be adorned by riches of gold and jewels
Nor to see all the wonders of the world;
To simply be perfectly imperfect in all that I am.

“…you shall count off seven weeks; they shall be complete.” Lev 23:15

God who counts the dust,
grains of sand and hairs on our heads,
the stars and our descendants,
your desire for perfect perfection,
seven times seven,
heartens and emboldens.
If
week after
week after
week after
week after
week after
week after
week
may be made complete in your eyes,
then
as this week moves towards its sabbath
count this week
as one week
complete.
